Gaming technology company,
Zone4Play, Inc., announced on March 11th that it has acquired the minority interest in SMS-TV gaming innovator
MiXTV. According to the agreement, Zone4Play with obtain sole ownership of the MixTV's patented Broadcast TV technology, including all of its Intellectual Property rights. The acquisition extends Zone4Play's operations from the iTV, IPTV, mobile and hospitality markets, to now include also the broadcasting market.
MiXTV will be launching their groundbreaking Broadcast SMS-TV Interactive fixed-odds betting together with The Poker Channel in mid-April. The company is already in negotiation to sign additional agreements in the UK. Broadcast TV's proprietary technology uses mobile messaging to bring interactive gaming and communities to subscribers without a return-path, and create an up-close, personal and "sticky" virtual community around a TV channel. The SMS-TV gaming innovation facilitates the combination of live/pre-recorded programming on TV with viewer's mobile phone real-time interaction to provide broadcasters, operators and content providers with an extremely powerful tool for delivering highly entertaining Participation TV content.
Zone4Play's CEO Shimon Citron stated, "This acquisition is another step in turning Zone4Play into a worldwide leader in the interactive arena.
