Falcon Communications, provider of network infrastructures for the telecommunications industry, has entered into an agreement with
Entone Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of personal video content delivery solutions, to become a technology partner and reseller for Entone's comprehensive line of IP Television (IPTV) content delivery solutions.
Under terms of the new agreement, Falcon will sell and install Entone's full range of personal television solutions, including:
- Hydra TM IP video gateway: Breakthrough device that can reduce the cost of deploying IP video services by using a single device to support multiple television streams over a home's existing coaxial network.
- StreamLiner TMnetwork video recorder: Software solution that turns standard HP and IBM servers into the industry's highest performing and most scalable video on demand (VOD) servers.
- Encoding Studio TM content ingest system: Workflow management solution for accelerating the process for encoding, quality assuring, and distributing content to a network of VOD servers.
- Armada TM asset management system: Multi-cast content distribution solution that cost-optimizes the placement of VOD assets based on real-time consumption patterns.
"As customers in North America continue to embrace our IPTV solutions, it's important for Entone to partner with distributors and integrators who have the experience necessary to implement and support highly reliable IP video systems," said Entone CEO Steve McKay. "We're proud to be working with such a well-known and respected company like Falcon Communications and anticipate this relationship will accelerate the business success of both companies."
With a full-time engineering and systems integration staff, Falcon represents a one-stop-shop for telecommunications equipment, products, and services. The company operates sales and support offices in Malden, Missouri; Abilene, Texas; and Reno, Nevada, as well as a fiber-optic division and a repair facility in West Plains, Missouri. The company was founded in 1967 as a central office installation contractor and since, has established itself as a pioneer in engineering, equipment supply, vendor installation services, and technical support and repair for the telecommunications industry.
"Over the past 37 years, Falcon has distinguished itself by providing clients with first-class service and the right technology for the project at hand," said Donald R. Cook, President/CEO of Falcon Communications. "We carefully researched the market for IP video solutions, primarily by asking our customers which products and companies they were most interested in working with. Entone's market leadership position in VOD made StreamLiner a natural choice and the economic advantage of Hydra is extremely compelling to the operators."
