Endavo Media and Communications, Inc. and
WV Fiber, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, announced plans to distribute Endavo-enabled IP content and services, including voice, video and application level data services, over WV's fiber network, making them available to communities and service providers nationwide. This implementation follows a November 2004 announcement of the companies' intention to jointly develop the first nationwide IP Multicast Network across America.
As part of the initial launch this summer, Endavo will host and deploy digital entertainment and integrated IP communications services, including recently announced EnCast and EnRoute IPTV content delivery platforms, over a dedicated portion of WV Fiber's national IP backbone and facilities across the network. In addition, Endavo will provide WV Fiber with IP transport sales and a variety of other mission-critical OSS/BSS services through the Endavo EcoSystem, including bandwidth utilization management, accounting and settlement, customer management and troubleshooting, product and service negotiation, specialized network management and content filtering services.
Based on current IP traffic, Endavo expects to show immediate revenues, projected to represent approximately $4 million in the first year of implementation with WV Fiber. "We are now implementing key steps to deliver on the vision of launching the first IP Multicast Network nationwide, which will serve as the backbone of the D-Commerce marketplace," said Paul D. Hamm, CEO of Endavo. "Today we have moved beyond concept and into deployment, providing us with the backbone and cost basis to make IP transport feasible for even niche content and small service providers, which gives us a notable advantage in the marketplace."
"This transport agreement with WV Fiber also dovetails perfectly with recently announced agreements to deliver IP video and IPTV programming on behalf of our new content partners, GEM and Clearlight TV, to broadcasters and media center PC's around the country through our EnRoute and EnCast delivery platforms," Hamm added.
The Endavo EcoSystem enables the cost-effective storage and managed delivery of IP-encoded content for owners and programmers, giving them expanded market reach and opening up a whole new world of choices for connected consumers across the entire network. Fully deployed, the EcoSystem will provide automated network, service, customer and transaction management for participating content and service providers. By implementing an open network architecture and the ability to multicast content across the network, the Endavo EcoSystem also lowers the financial barriers to entry for communities and providers in local markets who want to offer their residents or subscribers the benefits of store-for-play entertainment or niche programming.
WV Fiber is one of the fastest growing providers of network services in the country that focuses on IP and MPLS communications solutions. The company's network reaches approximately sixty percent (60%) of the United States population with Metro Service Area (MSA) facilities located in 16 cities across its network, which will represent a significant expansion of market reach for Endavo and its partners. Leveraging this extensive reach, Endavo and WV Fiber will establish facilities connected to Broadband Communities and service providers across the network and create peering relationships with other fiber networks that, together, will be able to serve a rapidly growing broadband market across the U.S. with digital entertainment and communications solutions that are significantly more cost-effective and feature-rich than most traditional communications and broadcast solutions available today.
