At the Broadband World Forum in Madrid,
Alcatel continues to demonstrate its leadership in triple play solutions, including IPTV, through new solutions, real-world demonstrations, partnerships, and more than a dozen speaking engagements and presentations. Alcatel has gained unparalleled services integration and network design experience through its work on more than 30 major IPTV deployments around the world.
Alcatel's triple play leadership is demonstrated in the following areas:
- Introduction of innovative products and solutions which will enable service providers to transform their network for real user-centric triple play: the Alcatel 5900 AmigoTV and Alcatel 5900 MyOwnTV applications, built upon the Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software delivery platform, will enable operators to offer personal TV services to their customers. Alcatel will unveil its Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) Voice Package, the first native IP platform enabling triple play network transformation and NGN migration, and introduce in Europe the Alcatel 7342 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) FTTU Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) solution. Alcatel is also launching its 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS), the first platform in the industry eliminating barriers between optics and data delivery.
- Innovative demonstrations: Alcatel's presence at this year's conference will include several live demonstrations highlighting various elements of its industry-leading solutions portfolio. In one of the most exciting demonstrations, Alcatel will provide an example of the hardware and software elements needed to meet the scalability, reliability and quality of service requirements of an IPTV solution. This demonstration will feature the MicrosoftTV IPTV Edition software platform, which is a key component of the global collaboration agreement between the two companies that is designed to rapidly accelerate the availability of IPTV services for broadband operators worldwide. In addition to IPTV, more than 10 new triple play applications will be shown, highlighting how triple play will change the end-user TV experience.
- Industry expertise: Throughout the conference, Alcatel representatives will be sharing industry expertise through participation in a dozen speaking opportunities, focused on compelling issues related to triple play and IPTV such as the future of triple play, services intelligence in the network, content and entertaiment services for the broadband network, and more.
