With more than 150 service providers worldwide delivering IPTV powered by Tut Systems's digital headends, Multimedia Research Group, Inc. (MRG Inc.) named Tut Systems a Leader among video headend vendors for IPTV services. Tut Systems was the only video headend vendor to secure a Leader rating for the North American and Global markets, and one of two vendors to achieve a Leader rating for the Asia Pacific market.

The August 2005 IPTV Tracking Service -- Market Leaders Report identified IPTV systems and software companies leading each of five IPTV geographic markets. The report measured market position using estimates of the number of IPTV channels being provided by the video headend companies' products. A video headend Leader was defined as "one of a small number of companies that support a large number of IPTV channels with the other competitors supporting significantly fewer IPTV channels."
