CNN has launched
CNN Pipeline, a paid broadband video service that allows users to watch live video streams or choose from CNN's video-on-demand library.
While the service is only available for a fee, it is commerical free. Initial prices for CNN Pipeline are $2.95 for a month of service, $24.95 for a year, or 99 cents for a 24 hour day pass.
"With CNN Pipeline, CNN.com stakes out entirely new territory for online news, placing the broadband consumer in the ultimate driver's seat," said Susan Grant, executive vice president of CNN News Services.
"Today, the CNN.com user can not only read a story and view video on demand, but with CNN Pipeline, the user can also take control of daily news clips, several live streams of news and even video from CNN's extensive archives. Subscribers will be able to download a video player or use a web-based version of the service to access CNN Pipeline.
