Club iT Corporation announced a successful commencement of G-cluster games-on-demand field trial deployment with KT Corporation, the leading telecommunications and networking company in Korea.
This previously announced joint field trial with KT and Club iT has commenced operation on November 25 in Seoul and the surrounding areas through KT's broadband network. The trial is scheduled to continue for a period of one month. KT and Club iT are working towards a formal agreement of adopting G-cluster games-on-demand as one of KT's value-added services.
Some of the world's leading publishers are participating in the field trial including Codemasters, HUDSON SOFT, and Sega Corporation. Game titles offered on the service include Colin McRae Rally 2005, ToCA Race Driver 2, Bomberman World, PUYO PUYO 2, Sonic & Knuckles, World Tennis Ace, and G-cluster Golf Pro.
Club iT is accelerating its content partnerships with the world's leading video game publishers to further enrich the G-cluster game portfolio.
G-cluster gaming-on-demand brings high-end gaming to broadband networks. A dedicated grid of game servers enables the latest video games to be played on-demand with any broadband-connected device, including existing digital cable and IPTV set-top boxes, entry level PCs, and 3G mobile phones. The games are run on central game servers rather than the devices themselves. The game servers transmit the audio-visual output stream of the game to the client devices which only need enough processing capacity to receive the stream and play back the video and audio of the game.
