Latens Systems announced that
Ringgold Telephone Company has selected Latens FCAS CA as the encryption solution for its advanced IPTV services. Ringgold, a pioneer in IPTV in Georgia, now can offer its subscribers secured video services that include Pay-TV, High-Definition (HD), personal-video-recording (PVR), video-on-demand (VOD), and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), through tight integration with TVN, the C-Cor VOD solution and Minerva's iTV Manager.
"At Ringgold Telephone we have ambitious plans to offer advanced IPTV services to our citizens in Ringgold and elsewhere in Georgia. Ringgold offers an enormous amount of high profile, high value content to our customers and we needed a conditional access partner that would adapt to our centralized as well as distributed network needs. After a thorough evaluation of the Latens FCAS, we chose it over the other leading CAS vendors in the market," said Phil Erli, General Manager and EVP of Ringgold Telephone Company.
"We are happy to have been chosen by Ringgold after a thorough assessment against all the other leaders in the CAS business. It was crucial that the experts at Ringgold were confident that the CA chosen would meet the security requirements of TVN and other programmers," said Dean Kashlan, GM and VP, Americas, Latens. "This contract win is further testament to our ability to help customers like Ringgold meet all the security approval requirements of the content providers".
"With digital piracy an ever present threat to popular commercial media, it is critical that we and our affiliates deploy only the most effective systems to protect and track content distributed across our networks," said Dom Stasi, TVN Chief Technology Officer. "Our evaluation of the Latens FCAS technology has shown it equal to the challenge. The seamless implementation of Latens FCAS by TVN's VOD affiliates, such as Ringgold Telephone, ensures that they will continue acquiring premium content from TVN, and that our content will be secure".
