Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios announced that IMG Media, building on the success of their milestone coverage of the shows in New York's Bryant Park, will move forward with a similar new media initiative at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles. As they were in New York, MSN will be the exclusive internet carrier for these shows.
"We are proud to bring the excitement and talent at our shows to people all over the world who love fashion. We are continuing to connect the global fashion community," said Fern Mallis, Vice-President and Executive Director of IMG Fashion.
The new programming will cover the event with designer, sponsor and lifestyle features along with two minute highlights of every designer's show posted just hours after they finish. The content will be available exclusively on MSN Video on demand in the US, Japan, the UK and Australia with other wireless and new media carriers to be announced later. Apple's iPod will also have a podcast of the shows available in late March.
"Bringing together designer fashion and new media was a natural for IMG Media," said Bill Squadron, Senior Vice-President of IMG Media. "Our company is on the forefront of both worlds and we are tremendously excited to be working with IMG Fashion to expand the coverage of their events in new and exciting ways. Having MSN as a partner on this project confirms the success of the coverage of Olympus Fashion Week and creates opportunities to reach more consumers with this dynamic content."
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios will run from March 19th to 23rd in Culver City, CA and features the Fall 2006 collections of designers including Kevan Hall, Agent Provocateur, Collection BeBe, Jennifer Nicholson, Bradley Bayou and many, many more.
