pulvermedia today announced that it is hosting the ninth annual VON Europe Spring event, 15-18 May 2006 at Stockholm International Fairs. VON Europe is expected to be more than 40-percent larger than last year's event, now attracting more than 200 exhibiting companies, 150-plus speakers, and more than 3,000 attendees.
As the premier pan-European IP Communications event, VON Europe is the place to hear and see what the future brings for communicating, and working together. VON Europe will cover in detail the emergence of IPTV, video on the desktop; triple play services, the migration of mobile devices and cellular networks to IP and SIP; and the event will examine the ways in which communications are being integrated with real-time data in business processes such as CRM and ERP.
Featured Speakers at this year's event include: Niklas Zennstrom, Founder and CEO of Skype, Sir Terry Matthews, chairman of Mitel Networks, Jeff Pulver, founder and chairman of pulvermedia, and senior level executives from companies including British Telecom, KPN Telecom, TeliaSonera, Telio, WiMax Telecom, FastWeb and many more. This year's conference features three streams:
- Mobile Enterprise: reflecting the convergence of fixed and mobile
networks, and highlighting Europe's leadership on the wireless front.
This track features several non-technical sessions that focus on
business benefits and key issues that address the needs and concerns
of executives and senior managers.
- Technology Update: new topics will be presented and debated this year,
including IPTV architectures, Microsoft's LCS/Office Communicator
model, predictable multi-service QoS and meshed networks. The content
is ideal for CIOs, IT managers and developers.
- For historic reasons, VoIP is associated with the Internet, but
developments such as IPTV, Triple Play and IMS are being driven by
broadband access and high-speed wireless data. The third track -
Service Providers - examines the response of the telecommunications
sector to these key enablers and the value-added service portfolios
that have been developed and which will be implemented in 2006. In
addition, the session will consider the role of hosted services, which
can both compete with and complement the functionality provided by on-
site solutions.
VON Europe provides the single-most significant venue for the industry to meet, network and negotiate deals. More than 200 of Europe's leading IP-based communications companies are participating, and each is uniquely positioned to accelerate the growth of VoIP adoption around the globe. These companies will unveil hundreds of new product and service offerings on the show floor, and share their vision for the future of IP communications.
