Interactive Television
Networks, Inc. (ITVN), a leader in Internet
Protocol Television (IPTV), today announced a partnership with Union,
the nation's premiere action sports video destination. ITVN will offer
Union On Demand, which offers the best action sports films, and other youth
lifestyle content.
"We are delighted to offer Union On Demand to our viewers," said
Charles Prast, CEO of ITVN. "Action sports have reached critical mass, with
approximately 58 million Americans aged 10-24 participating one of the
disciplines,* and Union On Demand provides an amazing opportunity to
entertain this growing demographic."
Union On Demand is the first premium action sports media platform that
offers the best action sports films and lots of other youth lifestyle
content, such as the newest independent music videos, interviews and
behind-the-scenes video with action sports athletes like Kelly Slater and
Bam Margera.
"We are very excited to bring Union On Demand to the ITVN audience,"
said Rob Colby, Co-founder of Union. "We see IPTV as the next chapter in
video distribution and look forward to extending our content and our brand
across this cutting-edge platform."
Established to fill the void in mainstream distribution for action
sports titles, Union On Demand was created by Quiksilver Entertainment, a
division of Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE: ZQK), in 2002. Today, Union On Demand
is a privately held joint venture between Quiksilver Entertainment, Inc.
and Global Media Ventures, LLC, operating as a fully independent
entertainment company that involves many leading action sports brands and
athletes.
"Prior to the creation of Union On Demand, action sports films were
only available for a premium price via specialty retailers," said Colby.
"Today, action sports fans across the country have access to the films and
athletes they want, when they want it."
The channel will be available in July of this year, with each Union On
Demand film title available for only $3.99 for 24 hours of unlimited
viewing.
