Tut Systems, Inc., an industry leader enabling the delivery of next-generation data and video services over broadband networks, announced that it has contracted with
CP-Tel Network Service Inc., an IPTV and telecommunications provider in north central Louisiana, to migrate its high action broadcast channels to Tut Systems' Astria content processor (CP) line of products.
The contract comes as a result of CP-TEL's desire to improve the stability, reliability and quality of its IPTV services which current serves more than 150 broadcast channels to its subscribers. After several years of struggling to achieve a robust solution with an existing IPTV headend system, CP-TEL tapped Tut Systems to help reduce ongoing operational and maintenance costs while increasing overall system uptime. With the installation of the Astria CP, CP-TEL will now use the industry's premier digital turnaround solution to help convert existing satellite channels to IPTV channels groomed specifically for delivery over their xDSL network.
"CP-TEL strongly believes in working with vendors that concentrate on overall system reliability and quality," said Philip Fernbaugh, CP-TEL's Network Operations Manager. "Based on our discussion with numerous other IPTV operators, Tut Systems' reputation for delivering high quality, stable IPTV platforms with world class support resources is unmatched in the industry. We look forward to a long standing relationship with our new partners at Tut Systems."
"Service providers who make the commitment to deploy IPTV services need a trusted partner to guide them through process for planning, deploying and maintaining an optimal headend solution," said Bob Noonan, Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing and Customer Care for Tut Systems. "We are proud to have CP-TEL join the Tut Systems family of service providers that are blazing the trail in the IPTV marketplace and look forward to adding them to our 4th Annual User's Group Conference this fall."
