In response to strong customer demand, Amino, leading IPTV set-top box supplier, today announces the latest addition to its range of High Definition (HD) set-top boxes (STBs) which supports the advanced H.264 video codec. The launch of the AmiNET131 reinforces Amino's vision of the future of the connected home, which features the IPTV STB as a hub of an advanced home entertainment network.

The AmiNET131 builds on the advanced performance of the company's HD H.264/AVC platform. The AmiNET131 provides service operators with a scaleable solution, enabling innovative future-proof services including home networking. The STB presents a range of flexible options which will include coax, phoneline, powerline and wireless technologies for reliable HD media streaming around the home.

The AmiNET131 will begin volume shipping in Q3 2006. As with all Amino products, the unit will offer proven and pre-tested integration with the major components of an IPTV value chain, such as middleware, content security, headend and browser technologies.
