Orca Interactive, a global market leader in developing middleware and applications for IPTV, announced today that it will exhibit at CommunicAsia with demonstrations that include a preview of its new RiGHTv IPTV middleware and presentations by company executives on strategies for IPTV and the user interface.
At booth #4G1-01, Orca will provide a preview of its SUI (Subscriber User Interface) that provides a TV interface supporting passive TV viewing, while incorporating easy-to-access advanced features that guide the user to an active, on-demand experience over time. RiGHTv middleware has an SDP (service delivery platform) architecture for seamless integration of centrally managed third-party services.
"The Asia Pacific region is still in the early stages of IPTV deployments but presents tremendous opportunities for competitively priced and proven solutions," said Yosi Glick, VP Marketing and Business Development, Orca Interactive. "Orca presents a solution for operators that addresses the specific needs of this market, including multi-lingual services and service and interface flexibility to meet the diverse cultures and subscriber demands."
Demonstrations of the enhanced SUI will include- the 'Dashboard' - a personalized interactive interface that accompanies TV viewing. Showing all main functions at a glance, the Dashboard enhances the viewing experience without interfering with ongoing viewing; My TV - a central interface for subscriber control over content selection and scheduling and incorporates various applications as VOD, SVOD, and PVR into a single solution; My Lineup - a daily "channel" created by the subscribers from their favorite shows and movies, which can be viewed, paused and recorded, and watched on the subscriber’s time; Recommendations – two forms of recommendations as a subscriber rating, an average of ratings for VOD content, as well as peer to peer recommendations that can be provided to live and VOD programs via instant message.
Also in booth #4G1-01, Orca will demonstrate its SUI SDK for Flash. The SUI SDK for Flash gives operators control over the look and feel, application offering and STB porting. Leveraging the many design and performance advantages of Flash technology, the Flash SUI features a streamlined look and feel with high-quality visual effects and animation delivered at optimum performance levels.
