Wave Industries, Inc., developers of Wave Worms and Tiki-Man fishing products announce the launch of the Fishing Insider Network (FIN), an Internet video channel dedicated to anglers. The FIN broadcast will feature fresh and salt water fishing with each broadcast focused on three topics: fishing destinations, tips and tactics and a review of the latest fishing products. Subscribers will receive five minute, TV-quality shows twice a month directly to their PC. Unlike media streaming, FIN will enable subscribers to view full screen TV-quality video without the disruption of buffering or extended download times.
The FIN was the idea of Paul Whitman, Chairman of Wave Industries, Inc., an investor in innovative technology. "My goal is to reach anglers around the globe and offer them an informative, cost effective and exciting multi-media end user experience highlighting fresh and salt water fishing from around the world," said Whitman. "The PC has become a commodity and Wave Industries is leveraging the Internet to highlight the hobby and competitive sport of fishing," added Whitman. Wave Industries selected Dallas-based Ignite Technologies, a provider of content delivery solutions for Global2000 enterprises and consumers as our Internet TV content delivery platform and consumer interface to the show.
Ignite Technologies' Delivery Platform(TM) will automatically download the FIN video to the subscriber's computer through Polite Background Delivery, a technology that determines the speed and quality of the connection of the subscriber. This enables large video files to be delivered to subscribers without negatively impacting the PC performance even if they are using a dial-up Internet connection. The FIN subscriber is notified a new show is ready to be viewed by a pop-up that appears on their computer.
Ignite's Delivery Platform has the ability to attach a survey and other "click-through" functionality to the FIN video episodes, providing advertisers or sponsors of the FIN, the opportunity to directly target the angler audience on product preferences, demographics, fishing interests or any other consumer feedback. Wave Industries will sponsor the initial launch of the FIN and is looking to secure sponsors for future episodes. "We are on an aggressive path to meet our strategic plan for anglers around the world to be subscribers to the FIN," said Paul. "Our innovative new way of reaching and informing anglers about the art of fishing along with new product reviews, tips and destination highlights provides an interactive, multimedia experience for today's angler."
To host the Internet TV channel, Wave Industries, selected David Masterson, a producer of many fishing shows and a veteran fresh and salt water fishing guide and Brian Duplechain, a 21-year fishing guide and tournament angler. Additionally, Wave hired Texas-based Quest Media to build a state-of-the art production studio located at the legendary Lake Fork, Texas. Lake Fork is known as one of the best bass fishing lakes, with more trophy size bass caught than any other lake in the country.
The first two episodes of the FIN are free. Go to
www.getthefin.com to download and view. The subscription costs for one year are $24.95, which includes a Wave Worms Tiki-Man tee shirt, and a variety bag of Wave Worms.
