SPL Innotech, a Singapore-based multimedia technology company, will be showcasing its state-of-the-art MediaMagick IPTV technologies at IBC 2006 in Amsterdam.
SPL has been gaining momentum in the IPTV space, being the only provider of complete end-to-end IPTV solutions. Its comprehensive line-up of patented head-end server architecture, comprising encoders, MPEG-4 IP streaming servers, digital rights management and management servers and IP set top boxes (MaxBox), has been designed entirely in-house using no external services other than content, thereby eliminating accountability issues and enabling clients to deploy IPTV services in the shortest time, informs an official release.
SPL actively engages in the development and implementation of its own main profile codec for H.264 main profile compression technology, optimising the codec to a level where, at 600 Kbps, its solutions can deliver movies and on-demand satellite TV channels over IP networks. While making a mark in the IPTV realm, SPL Innotech is also gaining traction in High Definition TV (HDTV) market with its ability to compress high resolution HDTV 720i specs at less than 1.7 Mbps and HD 1080i at about 5-6 Mbps, adds the release.
In addition, SPL also provides an advanced hospitality management system which integrates VoD service with facilities management, room service, check out system and other hotel services controlled via IP set top box. In this case, the hotel also would not require a separate cable for CATV channel distribution or multi-switching DVB-S/DVB-T system and all the TV channels could be delivered through the common LAN.
