SecureMedia, the technology leader in content protection software for secure video and multimedia
delivery over IP networks, and
Amino, leading IPTV platform supplier, announced that SecureMedia has
fully integrated its widely deployed Encryptonite ONE System with Amino's AmiNET130, AVC HD STB for home entertainment.
The compact, elegant AmiNET130 supports both SD and HD, MPEG-2 and H.264 (MPEG4/AVC) video streams and is modeled on the same award-winning design as
previous AmiNET generations. The AmiNET130 provides the service provider with a cost effective means to deliver end-to-end digital HDTV as multicast,
on-demand video and multi-room IPTV services. The AmiNET130 also supports Dolby Surround Sound (5.1) and is also compatible with adapters for home networking
over the existing infrastructure.
"It is no surprise to us that SecureMedia, a company spearheading content security innovations, has already integrated their Encryptonite ONE System into our
next generation IPTV platforms," said Roy Kirsopp, VP & General Manager of Amino Communications. "Together, we'll accelerate the first secure HD H.264
commercial roll-out."
SecureMedia's Encryptonite ONE System is an open platform CA/DRM software solution that provides the highest levels of digital content security, allowing
telcos and broadband operators to acquire distribution rights to the most compelling broadcast channels and VOD programming. The Encryptonite ONE System
enables "Entertainment Everywhere!" of secure ubiquitous content on current and future media devices while offering IPTV service providers the lowest cost of
operation. Its unique design requires minimal incremental bandwidth and features an ultra-light, processor-efficient client that can be deployed on virtually
any consumer media appliance. By employing a patented, common encryption scheme for both broadcast and VOD content, the Encryptonite ONE System is the only
solution available today that enables persistent and efficient protection of content in PVR and nPVR applications, set-top boxes, PVRs, PCs, portable players
and mobile phones.
"We are excited to be the first content protection software company to support the AmiNET130 and address customers' pent-up demand for HDTV viewing from
their in-home entertainment systems," said Fred Ellis, CEO of SecureMedia. "With Encryptonite ONE System-enabled devices, IPTV service providers are assured
of offering their customers the most experienced security platform available for quality media entertainment."
