NDS has integrated its Synamedia Metro IPTV solution with the new IPTV set-top box from
Samsung Electronics.
The powerful combination of the NDS Synamedia Metro middleware and DRM capabilities, coupled with the Samsung IP set-top box, brings a complete IPTV solution to the telecommunications industry. A demonstration of the integrated technologies can be seen at IBC on the NDS Stand, 1.171.
Synamedia Metro is a turnkey IPTV middleware solution for broadband operators or pay TV platforms. It brings the world's leading television technologies to telcos and their digital TV subscribers, including advanced Electronic Program Guides (EPG), interactive TV applications (iTV), Video on Demand (VOD), digital video recorder (DVR) or network DVR capabilities and interactive games.
The Samsung IP set-top box, DIB-H570N, enables IPTV operators to use their existing network to offer end-users High Definition picture quality, a wider variety of TV channels, and with the integration of Synamedia Metro, a broad portfolio of advanced interactive TV applications.
Kenneth Choi, vice president Samsung Electronics STB Sales & Marketing Group said: "With the growing popularity of the IP platform, the IP-based set-top box will be at the center of the digital home network.
