Narrowstep Inc, the TV on the Internet Company, announced its partnership with Spanish new media specialists, Vivocom, to deliver a host of online channels via Narrowstep's proprietary technology platform, telvOS. These channels include PSOE TV for Spain's ruling political party, one of the first broadband channels dedicated to a political party.
The combination of Narrowstep's telvOS and Vivocom's expertise in creating new media productions promises to make IPTV in Spain a big success.
"It is the natural evolution of internet users to demand quality video and interactivity in one package. Broadcasters and organisations who are not seriously investigating and implementing IPTV will have major gaps in their communications," says Vivocom Director General Raul Cruz-Linacero.
IPTV channels are already a growing proposition in many countries, including the UK, the USA and Germany, and are finding markets hungry for the new platform. Narrowstep's telvOS system provides the backbone for IPTV for 90+ channels, representing niche market interest groups ranging from entertainment, tourism, gaming, sports, and local broadcasters who want to expand their market and remove geographical boundaries to broadcasting.
Steve Beaumont, CEO of Narrowstep Inc, says "The internet is a natural platform for broadcast and we're going to see an increasing number of IPTV channels across a range of sectors. Consumers are increasingly demanding choice, flexibility and interactivity from their media and IPTV offers all these things. We are really proud to work with Vivocom to create quality content for the Spanish market. The combination of their content and our technology is sure to equal quality and entertaining online television."
