EuroNews and TVext have reached an agreement to make EuroNews programming available at
www.tvext.tv. The partnership allows viewers in the U.S. and Canada to watch U.S. and international news live from their desktop, free of charge.
"This partnership represents a new way to expand globally and reach viewers who want news with a fresh perspective on world events," said EuroNews Chairman and CEO Phillippe Cayla. "It fits perfectly with our philosophy of providing accessible and relevant programming to dual-language households and emigrants living in the United States that complements the programming they already receive."
EuroNews, which is available in seven languages -- English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian -- reaches over 188 million households in 121 countries worldwide by cable, digital satellite and terrestrial distribution, including millions of U.S. cable and satellite viewers. The channel is also available on European cable, satellite and terrestrial platforms as well as 21 IPTV networks, 24 mobile phone platforms in 17 countries across Europe, and is live onboard 10 leading international airlines.
TVext, developed by Washington DC-based Broadband Television Network Corp., provides an enhanced television-like viewing experience to consumers on the web by combining top quality content sourced from around the world with interactive tools and patent-pending predictive technologies. TVext programming, including EuroNews, can be watched live or on demand worldwide, and users who want additional tools to further customize, search, organize, share and manage TVext programs can download TVext's software client for free. Together, these tools allow consumers to be in control of what, when and how they watch programming, enabling a highly personalized viewing experience.
"By being the first to deliver international television news programming online in a flexible, responsive and intelligent way, TVext and EuroNews together are providing users around the world with easier access to programming that is personally relevant," said Trevor Cornwell, TVext founder and CEO.
