All West Communications, Inc., a provider of IPTV services in the state of Utah, has selected the
Latens FCAS Conditional Access solution to secure its advanced IPTV services.
FCAS will integrate with the Entone VOD server and Hydra II multi-stream set-top box and with Minerva's iTV Manager, to provide an end-to-end IPTV solution. This solution enables All West to offer its subscribers secured video services that include Pay-TV, High Definition (HD), personal video recording (PVR), video-on-demand (VOD), and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD).
"FCAS is Latens' entry level Conditional Access solution for the IOC market. It scales from 500 to 100,000 IPTV STBs without additional cost or changes to the IOC's network. All West will implement the FCAS encryption centrally and evolve to a distributed architecture when it is ready to expand its encryption services to include other partner IOCs," says Dean Kashlan, GM & VP, Latens Americas. "We are delighted to be the first to address multi-video stream encryption through our tight integration with Minerva's iTV Manager and the Entone Hydra II."
"The close collaboration between Latens and Entone enables All West to deploy its advanced IPTV solutions of choice to the multi-stream Hydra II," says Steve McKay at Entone. "In addition, it improves the business model for all IPTV operators concerned about the cost of STBs."
