Verimatrix, setting the standard in content security technologies that enhance the value of pay-TV networks, has been awarded the coveted Most Innovative Product (MIP) Award from CONNECT in the Security Technology category for VideoMark™, Verimatrix’s patent-pending forensic watermarking technology. CONNECT is a globally-recognized, non-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining the growth of innovative technology and life science businesses in San Diego.
CONNECT’s 19th Annual MIP Awards winners were selected from an unprecedented number of entries representing a broad range of companies and within eight categories. MIP Awards honor the vision, hard work, and perseverance that transform ideas and technologies into products. VideoMark won the Security Technology category because of its ability to provide forensic, user-specific watermarking to content, such as Video-on-Demand (VOD), creating a superior distribution channel and the potential for movie studios to provide earlier release windows for premium content.
"Verimatrix’s VideoMark is a perfect example of a technology that has the potential to transform its industry," said Duane Roth, executive director, CONNECT. "San Diego’s technology community benefits from innovative and visionary companies like Verimatrix."
"We are extremely proud to be the recipient of this MIP award," said Tom Munro, CEO, Verimatrix. "Our engineering team is one of the most talented and committed teams I’ve had the pleasure to work with, and we dedicate this award to their hard work. San Diego provides the ideal climate in which to mature new ideas, and organizations such as CONNECT are in many ways responsible for fostering this environment."
