Pre-registered attendees top 400 for Rio de Janeiro this month (January
30-31).
Latin America's massive broadband expansion - penetration figures were up nearly 80 per cent last year alone - is helping to fuel record levels of interest in this month's
IPTV Latin American show in Rio de Janeiro.
The show, thought to be the biggest of its type ever held in South America, is being staged at the Intercontinental Hotel, Rio de Janeiro.
The show will have among its speakers stars of the telecommunications industry including Edmundo Poggio, General Manager of Technology Development from Telecom Argentina, Loyd Benson, the President of Pioneer Telephone Cooperative and Werner Schuler, the General Director of TV & Multimedia services from Telefonica.
"The growth in broadband penetration across Latin America has been phenomenal and it is fast becoming a viable and ever expanding market for IPTV services," commented Ian Johnson, Managing Director of Junction.
"The IPTV World Forum Latin America will, we hope, encourage high-level discussion and help to define the IPTV market place in the region, the prospects for growth and the potential of IPTV as a viable delivery platform," added Ian.
