IPTV-Americas has selected the
Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) to provide digital video content security throughout its digital video network. IPTV Americas is currently running trials of its turnkey IPTV solution with telecommunications carriers in Latin America and plans a full-scale launch in 2007. Visitors to the IPTV World Forum in Rio de Janeiro can visit Verimatrix at booth #2 and IPTV Americas at booth #11 to hear more details.
IPTV-Americas offers a complete IPTV solution consisting of a centralized IPTV head end in Miami with fiber optic access to telephone companies in Latin America through the NAP (network access point) of the Americas. IPTV-Americas also offers aggregated products and services that help telephone companies leverage start-up time and costs and set-up local ancillary head-ends.
Telephone companies benefit from a line up of the top 60 channels in the region and a turn-key solution that enables them to be up and running quickly providing triple-play services. Pay-TV programmers benefit from IPTV technology's ability to tier programming and offer higher margin premium packages that can not be distributed over analog cable. IPTV technology gives these programmers access to an untapped market where telephone companies' networks have a larger reach than the existing cable networks in Latin America. Verimatrix secures the service with a more sophisticated level of content protection than traditional CA (conditional access) systems, using cryptographic and e-commerce technologies proven on the Internet, including PKI and X.509 certificates.
