Convergin announced that its Accolade WCS Service Capability Interaction Management (SCIM) product, now enables the integration of IPTV and telecom services in converged networks. Wireless, wireline, and cable operators, can horizontally integrate IPTV services with their current service offerings, and control the way these services interact. This enables service providers to deliver a quadruple-play user experience.
As a SCIM platform, the Accolade WCS coordinates and unifies the orchestration and interaction of services from various application servers. With its new IPTV capabilities, Accolade WCS now extends the service orchestration to incorporate headend servers alongside SIP application servers and other service platforms. Thus, video services such as Video on Demand (VoD) and broadcast media streaming, can be delivered in coordination with voice and data services over any access network (e.g. 2G/3G, fixed, cable, wi-fi) and a variety of session/call control and switching technologies. Unified service interaction and control throughout an operator's entire service offering generates a greater quality of experience (QoE) for the end-user combining media, telephony and other communication and value added services.
"The importance of the SCIM increases as operators expand their service offerings and require more advanced orchestration beyond simple voice services," said Dr. Ayal Itzkovitz, CEO of Convergin. "Convergin is spearheading the SCIM market and is the first vendor to deliver an IPTV-ready service control and interaction solution for converged networks. As operators spread their reach towards IPTV and quadruple play, Convergin allows them to leverage their existing assets and capabilities towards a comprehensive and flexible service offering."
