Alcatel-Lucent values its relationship with Telefonica, one of the leaders in the new multimedia segment. Alcatel-Lucent supports and will continue growing the capabilities of the Imagenio service to meet the increasing demands from their end users.
"Telefonica is one of a handful of operators who have already moved beyond the selection of IPTV middleware. They have a long commercial experience with the Imagenio service and are focusing now on the blending of advanced services for personal and residential entertainment. We are excited about the potential benefits that a converged TV experience will bring to consumers and are committed to help Telefonica to be amongst the first ones to provide it." said Luis Martinez Amago, President of Alcatel-Lucent's Multimedia and Payment activities within the Convergence business group.
Alcatel-Lucent is building the next generation, converged multimedia solution, by blending in-house solutions such as the MiViewTV coming from the Telefonica agreement, the MiTV Mobile Solution, the content delivery solution coming from the Mobilitec acquisition, and partnerships such as the Microsoft one.
