COMEDY CENTRAL and
AtomFilms announce that "Super Sam" is the grand prize winner of the second annual "COMEDY CENTRAL Test Pilots," an online competition in search of the next big broadband show. In addition to being featured on comedycentral.com and atomfilms.com, "Super Sam," from Wilmington, North Carolina creator Brent Triplett, will also be featured on-air in COMEDY CENTRAL's late night series "Web Shows."
"COMEDY CENTRAL's Test Pilots" accepted submissions from June 1 through July 10, 2007. COMEDY CENTRAL partnered with AtomFilms as the exclusive destination to upload and share their one-to-five-minute pilots. During the competition, COMEDY CENTRAL chose a series of "staff picks" and those pilots were featured on both comedycentral.com and AtomFilms.com. The panel of judges, which consisted of COMEDY CENTRAL and AtomFilms executives, narrowed down the entries to four semi-finalists. Viewers then voted online at comedycentral.com for their favorite pilot.
The grand prize winner, "Super Sam," as determined by the online voting, will receive $5000.00 and the potential for a development deal with COMEDY CENTRAL to produce an episodic broadband series. In addition, "Super Sam" will air on COMEDY CENTRAL's late night series "Web Shows." Last year's winner, "Awesome Friends" was signed for a six episode broadband series deal.
