A new report from
Infonetics Research, worldwide IPTV equipment revenue hit $562.4 million in the second quarter of 2007, up 33% from the previous quarter.
The report, "IPTV Equipment, Services, Subscribers, and Capex," predicts worldwide IPTV equipment manufacturer revenue will more than double between 2007 and 2010.
"Regulatory approval for IPTV services in places like Korea is giving the market a boost, making it easier for deployment rollouts. MPEG-4 HD set-top boxes are hitting the market in respectable volumes, also facilitating deployments. Meanwhile, M&A activity continues to increase, as service providers prefer end-to-end solutions over best-of-breed approaches," said Jeff Heynen, directing analyst at Infonetics Research.
Other highlights from the report:

- Growth in worldwide service provider revenue from pure IPTV service revenue is expected to more than double from 2006 to 2007
