MySpace launches an original Internet series, “
quarterlife,” created and owned by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, the Emmy award-winning creative team. The first of 36 eight-minute episodes goes live this Sunday, November 11 on
MySpaceTV with new episodes debuting every Sunday and Thursday at 12 a.m. PT. The new “quarterlife” series marks the first time a network-quality series has been produced directly for the Internet and it’s the first time an independent project of this distinction has been owned and controlled by its creators, Herskovitz and Zwick.
Known for their incisive portrayals of relationships and experiences during life’s key passages, in “quarterlife,” Herskovitz and Zwick take on those crucial years between 20 and 30, when so many of life’s important decisions are made. At the center of the show is “Dylan,” a young woman whose overly truthful video blog – at quarterlife.com – spills secrets of her friends. The groundbreaking show charts the sometimes excruciating, sometimes comic, often emotional experiences that comprise coming of age in the 21st Century.
MySpace has created an immersive experience for “quarterlife” on the official profile where viewers can watch personal video confessional blogs, interact with the characters via fully viewable character profiles, and post comments about recent episodes. The “quarterlife” profile will also utilize a polling tool to gauge real-time audience opinions on character developments and specific aspects of the storyline.
