YouTube introduces its Personalized Homepage. The customizable homepage features new interactive modules that can be moved around, removed and replaced, in order to create a more personal and comprehensive video discovery experience.
Alongside homepage regulars like Featured and Most Popular videos, the new homepage will include personalized recommendations (an algorithmically selected set of videos based on past views and favorites), the latest videos from subscriptions and an easier way to see what friends are uploading, favoriting and rating.
In addition, the new personalized homepage features a dashboard that includes stats about the user's Inbox and information about their videos. The new display also showcases stats such as total views, number of subscribers and more.
The YouTube Personalized Homepage was first tested in February on a group of users selected at random and was enhanced based upon feedback. YouTube users who are logged-out and visitors without accounts will not have access to the YouTube Personalized Homepage. The mobile YouTube experience will remain the same.
