BNN has selected
Vusion's WARP video delivery technology to power the high quality video on its recently launched online portal,
101.TV. BNN is a Dutch public broadcasting network aimed at teenagers and young adults. Known for its irreverent style and somewhat controversial programming, BNN has built a huge audience throughout the Netherlands by developing and delivering content that is tailored for the unique taste of its demographic. As these younger viewers rapidly shift their attention away from TV sets and onto the Internet, BNN is now poised to support this shift on a massive scale with the addition of Vusion's WARP technology to its 101.TV web video portal.
"Vusion will enable 101.TV to deliver the best possible online viewing experience with instant-on, full screen, DVD quality video that is capable of supporting millions of simultaneous BNN viewers without buffering," said Paul van Keulen, head of 101.TV. "Our extensive line-up of online programming and established audience will be the ideal showcase for the quality and scalability of Vusion's video delivery network."
Vusion's patented Wide Area Rapid Propagation (WARP) video delivery technology will serve as the backend infrastructure for 101.TV, enabling BNN viewers to channel surf through a variety of long form and short form online programming. By providing an end-to end service for 101.TV online programming, BNN can now deliver premium, DVD quality video with the experience and quality of service its viewers have come to expect.
"Our end-to-end service for video delivery was developed to reduce the cost of bandwidth, reduce the operational overhead and eliminate the need to work with multiple vendors in order to offer premium quality online video content," said Eli Habib, CEO of Vusion. "We're excited to give BNN the tools and technology necessary to monetize its video assets through the success of 101.TV."
