IBC2008 - Stand #4.B45 :
WHO: Verimatrix enhances the value and security of pay-TV networks with advanced software-based technologies designed to address the content protection challenges of today, and those of tomorrow. The Verimatrix 3-Dimensional Content Security approach provides a framework to enhance operator competitiveness and the consumer experience in the new world of pay-TV.
WHAT: Demonstrations: Setting the Content Security Standard for Broadcast and Hybrid Networks
Verimatrix will unveil the capabilities of VCAS for DVB 2.0, which now incorporates software-based protection for traditional one-way broadcast networks where no direct return path is available. Support for Digital Video Broadcasting services can be seamlessly offered with the same pay-TV head-end architecture securing IPTV and hybrid networks.
Verimatrix will demonstrate how the solution takes full advantage of current generation set-top box system-on-chip platforms to secure receiver devices with no direct return path to the head-end. Operators are able to support existing one-way subscribers while providing a clear upgrade path to capture higher ARPU subscribers who desire more interactive capabilities and VOD services.
Mobile TV Security in the Home and Beyond
VCAS for Mobile TV, announced June 2008, enables service operators to deliver cost-effective services that incorporate robust security and digital rights management without requiring specialist security hardware. The standards-based solution secures video within home media distribution, streaming or downloaded applications and the emerging mobile broadcasting networks.
Layered Content Security with Forensic Watermarking
Verimatrix's award-winning VideoMark extends the pay-TV network security perimeter through user-specific, forensic watermarking technology by enabling pirated content to be tracked back to its last legal recipient. VideoMark strengthens the protection provided by VCAS across the so-called "analog hole" and provides a more trusted secure distribution platform, far better suited to deter piracy than competing digital or analog techniques.
