On October 29, 2008, during the first day of the exhibition
EEBC Telecom&Broadcasting, the most significant event for cable operators market will be held – All-Ukrainian cable operators congress where the most important issues of cable television market will be discussed. Among them are the questions related to channel adaptation, the volume and matter of content in cable networks, as well as the questions of regulatory policy.
Association “Ukrteleset”,, Union of cable operators of Ukraine and All Ukrainian Association of cable operators and teleinformation networks are the organizers of the convention.
The President of Association Ukrteleset Vassiliy Anipchenko noted: "It has become a good tradition for all cable operators of Ukraine to gather at the end of October at the Congress within the framework of EEBC exhibition. Unfortunately, each year more and more problems appear in cable networks. This year we state a difficult confrontation and diametrically opposite points of view on the situation in the branch with the governmental regulator – the National Council on Radio and Television Broadcasting and the impossibility to find compromises. A number of leading companies in the branch together with the distributors decided to stand upon their rights in the courts of Ukraine - for freedom of speech, entrepreneurial activity, democracy in Ukraine. It is difficult. But we are supported by the deputies of Ukraine – Elena Bondarenko, Igor Shkirya, who addressed on their own behalf a number of competent bodies regarding the issue of insufficient actions of the National Council to the assigned authorities and contradictions with the effective legislation. Despite very cruel confrontation, we look into the future with optimism - totalitarianism and nazism should not return to our country through our industry. We are grateful to the organizers for the opportunity within the framework of the international professional exhibition to draw public attention at our Congress to the problems of our branch that have already become facts of breaching the constitutional rights of the citizens of Ukraine to information access".
