Tilgin announces a triple play field trial order win from a major telecom operator in Eastern Europe for its High Definition IPTV technology and its home gateway solution.
This field trial order is part of the operator’s initial triple play deployment on IP technology with an evaluation taking place during the late fall of 2008. The order value is limited. The operator who is one of Eastern Europe’s largest fixed-line operator plans to later expand its triple play offering with bundled IPTV, VoIP and high speed Internet services to its over 500,000 broadband subscribers and potentially also its 3 million large fixed-line subscriber base.
Tilgin will deliver its High Definition Mood 400 IPTV set-top solution and management software as well as its latest home gateway product HG 1100 for multi-play connectivity with ADSL2+. This triple play solution is part of a leading system integrator’s end-to-end solution enabling the operator to offer their customers improved broadband services.
The incumbent operates in an Eastern European country with a large population, high TV viewing rates and good growth potential. Tilgin’s new client has moved from being a former state monopoly to a private company with a goal to lead its country’s broadband services market. Its offering is based on trustworthy, innovative plug-and-play services, like traditional fixed telephony, high quality Internet, digital TV and other broadband related services. The Eastern European operator is the largest telecommunications company in its country with focus on reducing churn as well as offering a competitive portfolio of triple play services to its subscriber base. New services based on the latest IP technology are being launched continuously in order to fortify its competitive edge.
