Buffalo has selected DS2´s Aitana chipset to power its new Powerline Communications product the PL2-UPA-L1/S, a compact and stylish new desktop solution that delivers instant connectivity for multi-media networking applications. Thanks to further integration and cost reduction offered with Aitana based solutions the new PL2-UPA-L1/S is a full 30% smaller than Buffalo´s existing DS2-based powerline product with which it is fully interoperable. The PL2-UPA-L1/S uses the already installed AC electricity network and omnipresent wall sockets to connect network-enabled devices on the home network so that HD video, data and music files can be transferred and shared throughout the home. The solution also provides easy Internet-connectivity to IPTV broadband television services as well as to PS3, Xbox360 and other online gaming platforms.

Buffalo´s DS2-based Power line Ethernet Modems the PL2-UPA-L1/S (Kit with 2 modems) or PL2-UPA-L1 (single modem) will be available from mid January in retail stores in Japan.
