Ericsson Communications will be participating at the 11th annual
Arab International Telecom Development Summit, one of the largest telecommunication summit in the Arab World, which will take place on 28-29 May in Habtoor Grand Hotel, Beirut, Lebanon.
Focusing on Ericsson’s participation at the event, Tarek Saadi, Head of NME, said “Arabcom represents a fantastic opportunity to share ideas and experiences with our colleagues in the industry.
Held under the title "Broadband and Beyond - Strategic Partnership for Growth in the Region,” Arabcom 2009 is chartered to witness a review of the latest developments in the industry. On behalf of Ericsson, Andreas Hessler, VP Networks Ericsson Middle East, will make a presentation called "Society is benefiting, thanks to Broadband." This presentation aims to cover the changes society undergoes that the broadband delivery brings about. It will also feature the shift in value proposition from voice-centric services to social networking and Internet access. Moreover, it will demonstrate the technologies that will dominate our future, including 3G/HSPA/LTE and how the ME region is already in a position to move to the new technologies and benefit from the latest developments.
At the event, Ericsson will spotlight several case studies. A major highlight will be the demonstration of the company's experience in deploying broadband coverage to 98% of the population in Australia with Telstra - a huge continent with various landscapes.
Hessler stressed on the significance of bringing leaders in the field together saying, "As the world economies face uncertain times, it's great to be part of an industry that will bring major improvements to the way we live our lives and run our businesses; broadband is growing incredibly quickly and we're happy to be a part of that.” He concluded, “this event brings together many key players to discuss further improvements and initiatives in the region’s telecommunication infrastructure."
