Mr. Vijay Yadav, Managing Director - South Asia, UTStarcom, will be the keynote speaker at IPTV India 2009, and will speak on “Strategic Challenges & Opportunities for the introduction of IPTV in India”. UTStarcom is India’s leading provider of IPTV and broadband infrastructure in terms of scope of deployments and total commercially-deployed subscriber lines. Mr. Yadav is frequently invited as a speaker at leading telecom industry events. He recently spoke at Convergence India 2009, South Asia’s leading ICT event. Says Mr. Yadav, “IPTV is a promising interactive technology that is revolutionizing the way we watch TV in India. For the first time, viewers now no longer need to fear missing their favourite programs or matches; they can watch them at their own preferred times. They can now play movies of their choice or order pizzas and many more things just at the press of their TV remote. Besides enhancing entertainment, IPTV is also redefining experiences as an information tool and a productivity tool.” UTStarcom, being the leader in IPTV in India, considers it a responsibility to help create widespread awareness on benefits of IPTV to enterprises and consumers alike, he adds.
Mr. Manoj Barara, General Manager, UTStarcom, is also one of the speakers for the session, “Examining market drivers & implementing the best practices for IPTV in India”. Since 2006, Mr. Barara has designed IPTV networks for four Tier-1 operators in India and Sri Lanka and commercially launched services with them using UTStarcom RollingStream product platform. He was also a speaker at the Forum on Next Generation Standardization organized in Sri Lanka by the International Telecommunication Union last month.
