Amino Communications has won a major industry award for its new hybrid/OTT Amino Freedom media centre. The company picked up “Best Consumer Device” at last night’s prestigious IPTV World Series Awards in London, beating off stiff competition from major vendors for the coveted prize.
Powered by the Intel Atom Media Processor CE4100, the Amino Freedom is designed to meet growing consumer demand for TV-based entertainment from any source including broadcast, the Internet, social networking and local content in a single device.
The award judging panel including leading industry figures, analysts and journalists praised the device for offering "the most comprehensive, cost-efficient and user friendly solution to the challenge of delivering online content in a seamless, integrated and user-friendly manner.”
Amino Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burke said: “The key themes at this year’s IPTV World Forum have been hybrid and OTT and we’ve been very excited by the response to our new products on the show floor. Winning this award is further confirmation by the industry of our market leading position and we are delighted that we, as a company, continue our award-winning pedigree for product innovation.”
Amino recently announced it has won a contract to provide a solution based on the Amino Freedom to a major western European tier one operator to support the rollout of its broadband TV service.
