Netgem announces that it has now passed the 3 million Set Top Box and Middleware client milestone. Netgem Analyst firm Screen Digest has also ranked Netgem as Europe’s number one IPTV set top box vendor and number three globally in terms of the number of STBs deployed during 2009.
Confirming its lead for the current year, Netgem recently released positive first half financial results which reported profits rising by 34% and saw international sales multiply by a factor of nine compared to the same period last year.
Christophe Aulnette, Netgem’s managing director, said: “Screen Digest’s figures coupled with our recent financial and customer win announcements demonstrate the significant in-roads Netgem has made in the market. We have also underscored our ability to scale and expand with five simultaneous customer deployments by mid-year, Monaco Telecom, Telstra in Australia, Melita in Malta, FetchTV in the UK and Algeria Telecom, marking significant growth for the company.”
During IBC 2010 Netgem will showcase its latest product range running new applications including a fixed-mobile convergence service which is being deployed with Telekom Slovenia and Facebook support which allows users to share opinions with friends. Netgem partner Telstra will take part in the IBC conference session, “Telecoms in media: a natural convergence or an industry defending its turf?” at 9.30am on Monday 13th September.
