Ocean Blue Software announces support for Skype in their Sunrise DVB core. Working with Skype, Ocean Blue's software suite now incorporates Skype's communication APIs to enable free voice and video calling functionality via digital TVs and set-top boxes. Voice calls will take advantage of super-wideband audio quality via Skype’s SILK audio codec.

CE vendors can now add this functionality to their TVs and set top boxes with Ocean Blue’s Sunrise Skype version.

Sunrise Software & Future Developments
Ocean Blue Software's Sunrise DVB core already provides comprehensive multi-media support for music, video, TV, High Definition TV MPEG-4.H264, images, text and interactive services. A second phase of development using the Skype toolkit will add more useful applications to the core, including the ability to record video and audio calls on a PVR system, photo sharing with selected Skype contacts and Google Calendar integration.
