Exterity announces the global launch of its new AvediaPlayer receiver. The r9210 offers versatility, control and convenience when connecting TV and AV displays to an organisation’s Local Area Network for live and on-demand access to TV and video streams. The r9210 has been designed to integrate with new and legacy equipment and is easily integrated with specialist equipment that does not rely solely on the standard HDMI connection.
For maximum flexibility, this third-generation Exterity HD receiver includes HDMI and SD/HD analogue video connections and works up to 1080p resolutions. It is also compatible with Exterity’s iPhone receiver app, giving users control of channel, volume, language and much more using their iPhone or iPad and the organisation’s Wi-Fi network.
The device has a smaller footprint than previous Exterity HD receivers. Measuring just 222 mm wide by 43mm tall, it is ideal for behind-screen mounting using Exterity’s secure VESA brackets. This makes it suitable for installations in specialist accommodations such as hospitals or prisons where security of the device and cabling is vital.
With Power over Ethernet capability, the new receivers will be of particular interest to organisations where simple installation and set-ups are highly desirable. Additionally, the r9210 receiver’s built-in serial control can manage TVs for ultimate control of the video distribution system; for example, organisations can power-off TVs remotely without the need to visit each screen on site.
The AvediaPlayer range of IP set-top-boxes all benefit from Exterity’s Receiver Development Kit which enables Exterity’s partners to integrate with third-party applications and back-end components such as middleware. It gives partners the freedom to quickly develop and deploy powerful multimedia applications for the new r9210 receivers that are specifically tailored to an organisation’s needs.
