The
TelcoTV 2011 Vision Awards call for entries is now open. Submissions for these prestigious industry awards will be accepted until September 30, 2011. Recognizing outstanding leadership and innovation, the 4th Annual TelcoTV Vision Awards will be presented at the tenth annual TelcoTV Conference and Expo in October 2011. With the theme “Ten Years Transforming Telecom and Entertainment,” the show promises to attract businesses targeting the convergence of the entertainment and communications market.
Categories for this year’s awards include:
- Innovation in Broadband Access Networks
- Innovation in Digital Rights Management and Conditional Access Systems (formerly Conditional Access)
- Innovation in Customer Premises Equipment
- Innovation in Consumer Viewing Experience & Interactivity (NEW!)
- Innovation in Test & Measurement
- Innovation in Content Management Systems (NEW!)
- Innovation in Middleware
- Innovation in Video Processing (Expands “Encoding”)
- Service Provider’s Innovation Award
“The TelcoTV Vision Awards provide an opportunity to be recognized for innovation and excellence,” said Joseph Braue, SVP and Group Director of UBM TechWeb’s Light Reading division, which coproduces the event with the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association. “There are categories that address all aspects of the video value chain— from aggregation to access platforms and everything in between. Our panels of experts is eager to review entries from vendors and service providers alike to learn what’s new and worthy of their consideration.”

The TelcoTV 2011 Vision Awards are open to video service providers, technology manufacturers, and vendors. Companies can nominate themselves, their suppliers, vendors or customers. To be eligible for nomination, the product or service must have been launched no earlier than last year’s TelcoTV event (held November 2010). Further qualifications and more information can be found in the online FAQ. To help simplify the submission process, a sample submission form is also available online. Completed award entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts, including TelcoTV management, service providers, industry consultants, and editorial staff.
