TV Worldwide announces it has entered into a strategic alliance with Limelight Networks to provide city, state and federal government with an expanded suite of cloud-based solutions for managing and delivering digital media, webcasting and other content . The agreement terms include Limelight’s selection as the exclusive Content Delivery Platform for TV Worldwide’s FedEd TV Internet TV channel for government agencies and contractors, which features content for some of the 30 public sector agencies TV Worldwide supports with Internet TV solutions, such as the Executive Office of the President.

The Limelight Networks partnership with TV Worldwide is based on TV Worldwide’s 12-year history as the leading provider of online Internet TV content, production solutions and applications, including the creation, promotion and distribution of the first network of community-based Internet TV Channels online. Limelight and TV Worldwide engaged in this strategic alliance for the government sector after TV Worldwide began deploying Limelight content delivery technologies and solutions in 2010 for many of TV Worldwide’s government-related live Internet TV programming and webcast efforts. This included webcast events for federal agencies such as the Department of Transportation and the Executive Office of the President, in addition to support of state-government-related organizations and programming for over 1600 municipalities represented by the National League of Cities. The FedEdTV Internet TV channel, now offers a rich archive of video content on a full spectrum of public sector issues from transportation and bioethics to homeland security and federal science initiatives.
