Detecon Announces Global Centers of Excellence for IPTV, Innovation and Digital Entertainment
Detecon, Inc.
, a leading global telecommunications and information technology consulting firm, today announced the creation of three Centers of Excellence focusing on IPTV, Innovation and Digital Entertainment. These three initiatives will be led globally by Detecon’s US-based team, working in concert with Detecon’s internationally deployed consultants in major global markets.
“IPTV, Innovation and Digital Entertainment are three crucial areas where our rapidly converging industry needs to focus” said Eckart Pech, President and CEO of Detecon, Inc. “Detecon’s proven success in the Americas, combined with our resources around the globe uniquely positions us to help telecom and entertainment providers compete – and win.”
In addition to already serving some of the most prominent telecom operators across the Americas, Detecon has provided over 3,000 consulting projects in over 120 countries for many of the world’s largest service providers, equipment manufacturers and government entities.
The three new Centers of Excellence are:
1. IPTV Center of Excellence
Consulting for IPTV strategy includes market analysis, entry strategies, positioning/repositioning, customer segmentation, business models, market tests and piloting, portfolio analysis, partnering strategies, optimization and definition of:
Access
Entertainment
Communication
Content
Devices
In addition to consulting on IPTV strategy, Detecon also provides consulting for implementation such as product management, pricing, product development, launch and management, migration, technical requirements, process design, vendor selection and negotiation. In addition, Detecon offers help with IPTV sales and marketing such as sales strategies, multi-channel design, customer leadership models, CRM & IT solutions, branding concepts, marketing communications and service bundling.
2. Innovation Center of Excellence
Detecon enables telecom operators, as well as other players within the telecom ecosystem, to better understand and evaluate emerging new technologies. Detecon utilizes its unique Technology Radar Methodology, a proven approach to the identification, assessment and evaluation of emerging new technologies. The process systematically evaluates a host of technology choices, and narrows down these choices into a concise, more relevant “short list.” Detecon also provides technology due diligence, business opportunity and partnering assessments and other “deep dive” evaluations.
Innovation services include:
Products and Services Radar, which enables clients to immediately step up from an ad-hoc product and service innovation to a well-orchestrated approach with global coverage of relevant business sectors.
Emerging Technology Radar, which helps clients understand the impact of emerging technologies and related business issues for new ideas which can fuel the engine for growth. This service helps clients keep pace with the myriad of developments in related and peripheral fields that pose threats.
CTO Intelligence, provides senior technology executives with an “early warning system” that can identify trends in technology, the competitive landscape, and the industry value chain that impacts their core business, for better-informed technology investment decisions.
3. Digital Entertainment Center of Excellence
Detecon addresses the ongoing reshuffling of the content value chain at the blurring frontier between mobile and fixed technology. Detecon serves developers and publishers, content providers, carriers, solution providers and innovators.
Detecon’s Digital Entertainment services include:
Playout Intelligence, a holistic approach for the playout of rich applications and their profitable operations, creating a win situation for all players of the content value chain.
Prototyping Services, which produce tangible proof-of-concepts of leading-edge technologies and solutions.
BeyondIPTV is digital entertainment consulting beyond bundling, bouquet, and ala carte offerings. Detecon addresses network architecture, planning, and operations of triple and quadruple play offerings of truly blended services.
