SecureMedia, Inc., a leading provider of conditional access (CA) and digital rights management (DRM) software solutions, announced that Cavalier Telephone has licensed SecureMedia's Encryptonite System(TM) CA/DRM software to secure the delivery of advanced IPTV services over Cavalier's multi-state broadband network.

Cavalier Telephone, based in Richmond, Virginia, is a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) serving business and residential customers across five states and the District of Columbia. Cavalier will provide its customers a complete lineup of the top broadcast pay TV channels as well as Video on Demand (VOD) content from the major Hollywood studios all delivered over a state-of-the-art MPEG-4 AVC distribution platform and protected by SecureMedia's Encryptonite System.

SecureMedia's Encryptonite System is an open platform CA/DRM software solution that provides the highest levels of digital content security allowing telcos and broadband operators to acquire distribution rights to the most compelling broadcast channels and VOD programming.
