AT&T U-verse TV Customers Get Exclusive, Sneak Free-View Of "Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop" Documentary
AT&T
is joining Team Coco, giving fans a chance to watch their favorite comedian and late night show host in his “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” documentary before it hits theaters — and only on AT&T screens.
AT&T today announced the upcoming sneak free-view of the “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” documentary will be available for one day only on Thursday, June 23, exclusively across screens on AT&T U-verse TV, on AT&T U-verse Online at
www.att.net/conan
and on smartphones with AT&T U-verse Mobile — 24 hours before the film’s theatrical release on Friday, June 24. And beginning on June 24, only U-verse TV customers will be able to enjoy an exclusive U-verse Movie rental of “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” (same day as theaters) for $8 (HD) or $7 (SD).
In celebration of the launch, any fan can visit the AT&T U-verse Facebook page beginning today, to enter a sweepstakes for two round trip flights to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations for three days/two nights and two tickets to the Conan show, plus a meet and greet with Conan himself following the show. In addition, AT&T U-verse Facebook page fans can participate in a live chat with documentary director Rodman Flender on Wednesday, June 22, at 8 p.m. EST.
“We’re always looking for unique and compelling content to deliver to U-verse customers across platforms, and Conan is no exception,” said Dan York, president of content, AT&T. “Our customers will be the first to see Conan in this comedic documentary, and watch it on the device of their choice. We’re excited to give our U-verse Facebook fans extra access with exclusive documentary clips on our Facebook page and a chance to win a trip to LA to meet Conan. We’re interested in partnering with other producers to bring more films and cross-platform content to AT&T customers in the future.”
Conan fans can also stay connected with articles, photography, film videos and an exclusive interview with Conan available across AT&T screens. Exclusive videos will also be available through the U-verse Facebook page.
“AT&T has been an exceptional collaborator in both amplifying the awareness for our film and also enabling us to reach a wider audience – not only on the multiple U-verse platforms, but by working with us in our theatrical release,” said the film’s producer Gavin Polone. “It’s groundbreaking to work with a company that can reach a large direct audience, and promote and deliver our content in new and unique ways. They are innovating and creating new avenues for talent and filmmakers.”
In 2010, after a much-publicized departure from hosting NBC’s Tonight Show – and the severing of a 22-year relationship with the network – Conan hit the road with a 32-city music and comedy show to exercise his performing chops and exorcise a few demons. The “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour” was Conan’s answer to a contractual stipulation that banned his appearance on television, radio and the Internet for six months following his last show. Flender’s resulting documentary is an intimate portrait of an artist trained in improvisation, captured at the most improvisational time of his career.
AT&T continues to expand the ways for U-verse TV customers to enjoy and control their U-verse services, from wherever they are, with hit TV shows and integrated features available on U-verse TV, U-verse Mobile, U-verse Online and U-verse TV on Xbox 360. AT&T U-verse Movies gives U-verse TV customers instant access to thousands of movies and new titles.
