Orb Networks announced the 4th generation of OrbLive 2.0, the leading iPhone and iPod touch application for watching TV and any other video formats on these popular handsets. The latest release of OrbLive, first launched in Apple's App Store in November 2008, is in response to feedback from thousands of passionate OrbLive users who have been enjoying TV on their iPhones since May 2008.

OrbLive enhancements include:

• recording live media. If you can't watch it live, you can now record it, even when you are away. It's like having a TiVo in your hand -- but better because you can record not only live TV (with a tuner), but Internet TV/radio stations and webcams right from your iPhone
• searching to easily access content. With thousands of Internet TV and Radio stations available, the new text search capability makes it easy to find what you want quickly and easily
• managing favorites. Designate any TV channel, Internet TV or radio station as a favorite even while you're on the go, eliminating the tedious task of sorting through tens or hundreds of channels
• enhanced playback. Now you can seek inside any audio or video file to find exactly what you want or zoom-in on content while playing. And the on-screen controls rotate for landscape mode

Orb Networks first captured the attention of the iPhone media world with OrbLive in May 2008, as the first iPhone application to play streaming video and live TV. After the release of the iPhone SDK and the establishment of the App Store, OrbLive 2.0 was launched in early November.
