Coaxsys Incorporated, the leader in delivering customer premise networking over existing wires, today announced that McDonough Telephone Cooperative of Illinois will be using Coaxsys' IPTV 7000 TVnet Network to deliver Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) to its customers. McDonough is the first member of the Western Illinois Video (WIV) group to achieve an in-home networking solution over existing wiring in the home.

Coaxsys TVnet is the most widely deployed IPTV network today. It is the only solution on the market to instantly transform in-home coaxial wiring into a high-speed, IPTV-ready digital entertainment network. Because of TVnet's plug-and-play installation, McDonough will no longer have to engage in costly home rewires, thus achieving more a more cost effective and rapid market penetration in IPTV.

Coaxsys IPTV 7000 TVnet adapters can be installed without expert installers or software. After connecting a TVnet adapter to the video or broadband source, all coax jacks throughout a home become network-enabled. End users can then gain access to the Internet, stream high-quality video and audio (including HDTV and multichannel TV), and share peripherals by simply connecting a TVnet adapter to the coax jack.

TVnet delivers up to 104 Mbps transfer rate and supports distances up to 250 feet. TVnet is also compatible with TV splitters and supports Ethernet unicast, multicast, and broadcast.
