Alcatel Launches Multimedia Mobile Portal for the 7th Edition of the French Cinema Festival
Alcatel

This mobile portal, based on Alcatel's "Mobile Kiosk", will allow Portuguese mobile users to be updated with all the latest news related to the Festival on their mobile phones. Cinema fans will be able to check scheduled events in the different cities, location and time of film showings, cinemas, discover more about artists, read film synopses, and watch trailers of a movie of their choice.
"Thanks to our partnership with Alcatel for the new media coverage of the event, cinema enthusiasts will discover an innovative and exciting way to attend the 7th Edition of the French Cinema Festival. This mobile portal is a fabulous tool and we believe that it will bring the Festival a wider audience than ever before," stated Laure Bourdarot, director of the Institut Franco-Portugais, the Festival's organizer in Portugal.
"We are proud to be part of the success of the 7th Edition of the French Cinema Festival. The mobile portal created on this occasion is a "Première" in Portugal. Thanks to this unprecedented new media capability, mobile users and cinema fanatics will be able to maximize their enjoyment. Leveraging its leadership position in mobile video, multimedia streaming and interactive IPTV solutions, this mobile portal is a perfect illustration of how new media can provide real-time personalized information services to every kind of content owners and enhance a number of fantastic opportunities for culture," said Antonio Neto, director of Mobile Communication activities of Alcatel in Portugal.
In this project, Alcatel provides a turnkey solution including the mobile portal design and the Alcatel's Mobile Kiosk solution which allows content aggregation and service delivery in a hosted and operated mode. The solution is fully hosted, operated and integrated by Alcatel's Regional Competence Center in Portugal.
