Sigma Designs Brings ''Hollywood Experience'' to the Living Room at CES 2011
Sigma Designs

For the first time, Sigma will demonstrate its new powerhouse SMP8910 and thin-client optimized SMP8670 Secure Media Processors. Also on display will be Sigma's recently announced G.hn chipset, the CG5110.
Sigma will demonstrate the following solutions in the company's private suite, located in the Las Vegas Hilton, room 2921:
Media Processing Solutions That Bring Hollywood to the Home
NEW MEDIA PROCESSORS:
Sigma will showcase its new SMP8910, the state-of-the-art media processor, which is the first to incorporate Sigma's exclusive VXP video processing technology to deliver features that until now have only been available in broadcast and professional markets. The SMP8910 opens the door for consumers to experience studio-quality video along with the most dedicated processing power -- more than 6,000 DMIPS.
Also on display will be Sigma's new SMP8670, which gives OEMs and ODMs the ultimate solution for connected media players. The SMP8670 delivers 40% performance improvement and 30% lower power consumption compared to its predecessor, while lowering overall BOM costs.
ANDROID PLATFORMS:
Sigma will demonstrate its leading-edge solutions running on the Android operating system (based on Éclair and Froyo), including SkypeTV HD video conferencing and Connected Media Players supporting Adobe AIR for TV and Adobe Flash Player. Also on display will be Sigma's Android Server Client solution, showing customers the lowest cost thin-client solution available offering secure delivery of premium content over the Android operating system and through Android-enabled gadgets.
BLU-RAY SOLUTIONS:
Sigma's turnkey Blu-ray player solution will showcase the latest Over the Top functionality at more than twice the speed of previous versions at a competitive price. Sigma's exclusive VXP technology will be on display via Krell's Blu-ray solution, bringing studio-grade visual technology to the living room with support for Netflix, SHOUTcast, YouTube, Flickr and more.
WIRELESS DISPLAY MEDIA PROCESSING SOLUTIONS:
Sigma will display wireless solutions for showing -- in real-time -- all the content on consumers' notebooks directly to an HDTV by decoding video streams based on Intel Wireless Display Technology-enabled media players.
LATEST TV PLATFORM SOFTWARE:
Sigma will show XBMC, Adobe AIR for TV, Adobe Flash Player running in an Espial browser and a hardware accelerated Open GL ES 3D UI Framework -- all running on affordable consumer-priced media processors designed to deliver the next generation front of screen experience and provide easier access to Internet-based video content and games.
SET TOP BOX SOLUTIONS:
Also on display will be media processors running the latest Hybrid STB solutions and a complete Microsoft Mediaroom 2.0 solution with integrated home networking, low-cost PVR and thin clients.
Recognized Solutions in Home Entertainment Networks
G.HN SOLUTION:
For the first time, Sigma will show its new CG5110 G.hn chipset -- delivering the highest performance of any wired home entertainment solution on the market today.
POWERLINE SOLUTION:
HomePlug AV with ClearPath, Sigma's patented, award-winning, home entertainment networking technology enables unprecedented, carrier-class streaming of HD video, voice, and data -- such as triple play and IPTV -- over existing powerlines in the home.
HOME CONTROL AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT:

The company will also demonstrate Z-Wave on TVs and other CE devices.
